In observance to the 18-Day Campaign to End VAW (Violence Against Women), the Local Government of Claver conducted a workshop on Non-Violent Communication (NVC), also called “compassionate communication or collaborative communication” – an approach that would equip public servants to practice language that manifests cognitive empathy to be able to recognize and perceive themselves and other in a better perspective. The Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) partnered with Justice, Peace & Integrity of creation Integrated Development Center (JPIC-IDC), Inc., a faith-based non-government organization (NGO) in facilitating the said activity. LGU Claver has been working with JPIC-IDC in protecting the rights of women against any forms of violence. One of the board directors of JPIC-IDC, Fr. Anthony S. Salas, SVD, PhD, selflessly shared his knowledge to the participant from the 14 barangays, composed of barangay captains, VAW Desk Officers, Barangay Kagawads- Committee Chair of Social Service, Barangay Nutrition Scholar (BNS), Barangay Health Workers (BHW), barangay secretaries, and Daycare Workers.
